How to Set Up a Salon Website in Under 15 Minutes

Published October 1, 2026

Most "build a website in 15 minutes" posts quietly mean 15 minutes to a page with your logo on it, then weeks of plugin-hunting before it can actually take a booking. This one is different: by the end of the 7 steps below, you'll have a real salon website — a designed homepage, a staff list, and a working booking widget that takes clients through picking a service, a stylist and a time slot — live and clickable. We timed every step against a real stopwatch on a fresh WordPress install.

What you need before the clock starts:
  • A self-hosted WordPress site already running (WordPress.org, not WordPress.com) — setting up hosting itself isn't part of the 15 minutes, since that's a one-time, separate step most hosts now do for you in a couple of clicks
  • The Salon Suite theme and salon-booking-suite plugin zip files from your purchase email
  • 2 free WordPress.org plugins: Elementor and WooCommerce (both installed in step 1 below) — the demo importer is built into Salon Suite, so there's no third one to find
01

Install the free plugins Salon Suite depends on — ~2 min

In your WordPress dashboard go to Plugins → Add New and install + activate Elementor and WooCommerce. Both are free, and you don't need a separate demo-import plugin — the importer is built into the Salon Booking Suite plugin you'll upload in step 3.

02

Upload and activate the Salon Suite theme — ~2 min

Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme and choose salon-suite-full.zip — the version with demo content, which is what makes the 15-minute timeline possible. Click Install Now, then Activate.

03

Upload and activate the Salon Booking Suite plugin — ~1 min

Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose salon-booking-suite.zip, install and activate. This is what actually adds the booking widget and the "Salon Bookings" admin menu — the theme by itself is just the design.

04

Run the one-click demo import — ~1 min

Go to Appearance → Import Demo Data and click Import Demo Data. This is the step that actually makes "under 15 minutes" realistic — in about a minute it hands you all 18 layouts, 16 bookable services, staff, a location and their photos, with your homepage and menu already set up, instead of making you build each piece by hand before you can see anything working.

Edit any of the demo content like normal, or clear it all out with the Remove Demo Content button on the same screen — it deletes only what the import added, never anything you created yourself.
05

Pick your homepage layout — ~2 min

Go to Appearance → Customize → Homepage Style and scroll through the 18 ready-made layouts across Hair & Nails, Aesthetician & Nails, Spa and Barbershop. Pick whichever one already looks closest to your brand — the built-in Color Palette picker in the same screen lets you swap the whole color scheme instantly if the layout you like isn't quite the right shade.

06

Swap in your logo and a couple of photos — ~2 min

Still in the Customizer, replace the site logo under Site Identity, and swap the hero/gallery images that matter most to you via Elementor (click any image on the page in edit mode). You don't need to touch every photo right now — just enough that the homepage reads as yours, not a demo.

07

Turn on a payment method and test the booking widget — ~3 min

Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments and enable at least one method — Cash on Delivery is the fastest way to test this yourself right now, with Stripe or PayPal Payments (also free) for when you're ready to take real client money. Then visit /book-now/ and step through it yourself: pick a location, a service, a stylist, and a time slot. That's the moment your site stops being a brochure and starts being a bookable business.

If a service or staff member doesn't show up in the widget: it almost always means that item is missing its location/service checkboxes in Salon Bookings → Services or → Staff — the demo content has these filled in correctly, but it's the first thing to check once you start adding your own.

What "under 15 minutes" does and doesn't cover

This timeline gets you from "zip files in hand" to a live, designed, genuinely bookable site — that's real, and it's the part most templates can't actually do without a separate booking plugin bolted on. It does not cover replacing every piece of demo content with your real services, staff and locations one by one, or going deep on branding — that's ongoing work, same as it would be with any website. For the fuller, unhurried version of these same steps — including exactly how the location/service checkboxes work and how a booking flips from Pending to Confirmed — see the complete install guide.

Why speed matters here

A salon, spa or barbershop website has one job most "regular" small-business sites don't: it has to take a payment and lock in a real appointment time, correctly, the first time a client tries it. Getting a demo-content version of that live in 15 minutes means you're testing the actual booking flow — slot selection, checkout, confirmation — on day one, instead of discovering a gap in it after you've already told clients to use the site.
